Intimate Partner Violence

Abuse and aggression that occurs in context of a close relationship. Emotional, spiritual, physical, sexual abuse.

Also known as Domestic Violence.

Domestic violence transcends the individual. Understanding this as a community issue is essential to helping survivors find support and reduce stigma.

Intimate partner violence accounts for 15% of all violent crime. The trauma is complex and compounded by external factors—the legal system, court system, family systems, mental health systems—so our work can’t exist in a vacuum. Navigating the systems associated with abuse is complex and overwhelming - we can do this together.

Within the context of intimate partner violence, coercive control methods are increasingly accessible through digital means. Abusers often misuse technology as a way to control, monitor, and harass their victim.

When we have experienced abuse, fear can permeate all aspects of our lives.
